DaDaFest News

The festival is in full swing, we are in the Guardian's Society section on their website (www.guardian.co.uk/society). The atmosphere is positively buzzing and we are all tingling with anticipation of what is to come over the rest of the weekend.

DaDaUpdate Two - Photo montage

A montage video of all the photos displayed at the bottom of this page. The video then pans out to show that it is a computer screen that is being recorded in the reception room of the A Foundation. There are many people milling about in this area and enjoying the festival.

DaDaUpdate One

A collection of clips from some of the staff and organisers whilst awaiting the festival start. Some of the video is in BSL.

Comments from just before the start of DaDaFest

An Art History

Ever since I have been an artist I cannot get art off my mind. As soon as I wake up - sometimes it's morning, sometimes it's not - I begin to think about art.

Then I ask myself:

"Which art can I make today?"

Well, then a few things cross my mind. There are so many possibilities, I mean, to choose one from such a rich choice of possibilities is really not so easy.

So I simply just choose one and begin to work on it and with it.

Sooner or later I say to myself:

"Now that will do."

Clare cunningham is suspended from and manipulating her crutches in balet like movements on a stage lit with coloured lights.
Common Ground (and Ramesh Meyyapan) are making very expressive movements and faces in a stage lit environment.
Gus is stood next to his painting of brain scan petterns with his hands over his mouth.
Heavyload drummer and guitarist seen under heavy green stagelights. The drummer is really going for it.
Kevin Connoly is holding his camera up in the albert docks. Adjacent, his paintings are being hung in the A Foundation Gallery.
A close up photo of a man with his nose pressed against the face of a woman. They are both laughing hard.
Two women and a man sat on a stage set made to look like a raft. The man is falling backwards and rolling around on the floor.
Tanya Raabe sat at her easel, and a portrait of a man with the subject stood in front.
Wolfgang Temmel with light from projected text falling accross his cheeks. Also some stills of a woman signing from Wolfgang
